Karachi Development Plan 1974-1985 The 1st Karachi Development Plan provided for rational road networks, upgrading Katchi Abadis, warehousing, improvements to basic services and utilities. Karachi Development Plan 2000 The 2nd Karachi Development Plan recommended a new institutional body called Karachi Division Physical Planning Agency to monitor implementation of planning activities within the city. The most recent master plan for Karachi aim to create a “world class city and an attractive economic centre with a decent life for Karachiites”. The plan aimed at creating residential and commercial development through urban renewal and establishment of a polycentric urban structure and a coastal development programme.
